Dear Friends, Fans et al,
As 2009 draws to a close I always feel nostalgic and sad. So rather than give in to reminiscing about the past, I'm going to look forward to the new year and everything it brings.
I wish all of you peace, prosperity and the fulfilment of your dreams in 2010.
Happy New Year!

Piece by Piece: Stories about fitting into Canada
Hi Everyone,
Earlier this year I was approached by Teresa Toten, a wonderful YA author, to contribute a non-fiction piece for an anthology she was editing...a piece of me!
I agreed immediately!
This is the cover of the book, published by Penguin Canada, of fourteen Canadians' experiences about fitting into Canada. It has been twelve years since I immigrated and reminiscing about it made me realize how far I had come and how much I had learned along the way.
It is a pleasure to be able to share this journey with all of you.
Piece by Piece will be available in March 2010.

Reading and Signing at McNally Robinson on November 19, 2009 at 7 pm
Hello!
Hope everyone had a great summer. I did!
Finished a draft of the last book in The Tara Trilogy and completed final edits for The Silver Anklet which will be released on December 12, 2009.
But for anyone who can't wait that long, I will be doing a reading and signing at McNally Robinson (The Shops at Don Mills) on November 19, 2009 at 7 pm. Join me for a sneak peek of what's coming up, as the adventure continues in The Silver Anklet.
Go here for more information.
See you soon!

Tim, I and The Uninvited!
Heard Tim Wynne-Jones read from his latest YA novel "The Uninvited" at McNally Robinson this evening. It's a book that is hard to put down; the various plot strands draw you in, enmesh you, hold you there, and the only escape is to get right to the end -PDQ!
Another masterpiece by the Maestro!
And here's a picture of Tim, I and "The Uninvited" in the background...grrrrr!!!

A message for my Fans!
Dear Fans,
Last week was a rollercoaster of emotions that culminated in one of the most memorable days of my life; the day I won the Silver Birch Fiction Award!
THANK YOU to all who voted for me. It was all the more special because the votes came from the very audience this book was written for; and that means all of you!!!
Hope you'll enjoy "The Silver Anklet" just as much.
Here is that special moment captured for an eternity by Janet O'Sullivan. Thanks a ton, Janet.

The Silver Anklet!
For those enthusiastic fans who've asked about the sequel; it is slated for release in November 2009.
What if the only way to get rid of your worst enemy was to sacrifice your brother?
When hyenas snatch Tara's brother, Suraj, and two other children from the local fair in Morni, Tara and her newfound companions decide to rescue them on their own. Tara soon discovers that Zarku, her nemesis with the third eye, is back and intent on revenge.
A deadly game of hide and seek ensues, and Tara and her companions must work together to survive. But it is soon clear that Zarku is only after Tara; the others are dispensable.
Should Tara risk the lives of her friends? Or can she once again defeat Zarku and save her brother, armed only with belief in herself and a silver anklet?

I've been AWOL and I'm sorry...
First of all...HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I know...I know...it has been almost three months since my last post. But I do have a good reason; the sequel to "The Third Eye" is now finished. At least the seventh draft is. Now let's see what the editor has to say.
In the meantime, check out this link sent by my good friend Martha Martin.
